African crises escalate as AU leaders meet

More than 1.4 million people have been forced to flee their homes this year as a result of significant increasing violence in DR Congo, Sudan and Somalia, an international development agency said as heads of state met at the African Union summit in Libya to discuss peace and security across the continent.
