4,000 Death Sentences Commuted in Kenya
WASHINGTON, Aug 7 (OneWorld.net) - More than 4,000 prisoners on death row in Kenya had their sentences changed to lifeimprisonment Monday. The president called for astudy to determine the effectiveness of executions, butclarified that this does not mean the death penalty is being abolished.
