Suomen Attac vaatii Nokiaa palauttamaan saamansa julkiset tuet, koska yhtiö tekee yhteistyötä ihmisoikeuksia polkevan Turkmenistanin kanssa. Attac vaatii, että yritysten julkisen tukemisen ehdoksi asetetaan demokratian ja ihmisoikeuksien kunnioittaminen.

Kirkon Ulkomaanavun toiminnanjohtaja Antti Pentikäisen mielestä rauha Afganistanissa ei ole tällä hetkellä kestävällä pohjalla. Hänen mukaansa kaikkien osapuolien, myös talebanien, kanssa pitäisi neuvotella. Pentikäisen mukaan Afganistanin jälleenrakentamista on ajateltava 30 vuoden perspektiivillä.
