23-year-old American peace activist Rachel Corrie was crushed by an Israeli bulldozer aiming for a Palestinian home on March 16, 2003. Her powerful emails and journal entries have been transformed into a one-woman play, but political pressure might keep it from ever reaching a U.S. stage.

WASHINGTON, D.C., Mar 27 (OneWorld) - Arab leaders must press Sudan's government to let the United Nations take charge of peacekeeping in Darfur, the oil-rich country's war-wrecked western region, Arab and Western human rights advocates said in advance of regional talks starting Tuesday.

NEW YORK, Mar 24 (IPS) - Wrapping up a week of over 600 protest actions to mark three years since the United States invaded Iraq, activists here say that anti-war sentiment has become the dominant perspective in the U.S. and leaves the war "without legitimacy".

I have to take issue with Abid Aslam's article, "Third Iraq Anniversary Finds Publics Weary of War and Protest," particularly the assertion that anti-war activism has waned. I was surprised to see OneWorld joining the trend of playing down opposition to the Iraq war...

Sixteen Jewish campaign groups are urging the Archibishop of Canterbury to support the General Synod’s vote to withdraw its investments in bulldozer manufacturer Caterpillar. A War on Want report shows that the company sells its bulldozers to the Israeli military fully aware that they will be used for the demolition of houses in the Palestinian Occupied Territories.

The Transnational Foundation points out that its predictions about Iraq - based on an annual budget of $25,000 - have turned out to be better than those of the American, British and Danish governments with their multibillion dollar budgets for foreign policy research, intelligence and other services. "Fortunately," notes Jan Oberg, these governments' "intellectual laziness, their (self) deception, lies and spin has been debunked."

The war in Iraq is the deadliest for journalists since World War II. A total of 86 journalists and media assistants have been killed since the war began on 20 March 2003 - more than the number killed during 20 years of war in Vietnam or the civil war in Algeria.

WASHINGTON, D.C., Mar 19 (OneWorld) - Today's third anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq presents anti-war groups with something of a paradox: Public protest has waned even as popular opposition to the war and the politicians prosecuting it has waxed.
