Per questo non vengono chieste pressioni politiche sui governi ma viene chiesto ai musulmani di fare appelli ai rapitori attraverso i media arabi per il rilascio degli ostaggi. Jack Straw, segretario agli esteri del Governo inglese ha rinnovato gli appelli per il rilascio del suo concittadin. A sostegno di questi appelli arriva la lettera della figlia di Tom Fox che ricorda che il padre “ ha scelto di andare in Iraq e ascoltare chi non ha voce”. Per sabato 10 dicembre è programmata una manifestazione contro la produzione di ‘cluster bombs – bombe a grappolo’ prodotte dall’azienda Simmel di Colleferro nel Lazio. Gli organizzatori chiedono al nuovo Consiglio Regionale di dichiarare il Lazio regione smilitarizzata e di impegnarsi formalmente a sostenere la piattaforma delle politiche di disarmo che dovrà scaturire dal confronto con le realtà sociali e operaie del territorio.
