12.06.2006 Secondo un rapporto diffuso oggi da Amnesty International, dietro una cortina di segretezza la Cina sta rapidamente emergendo come uno dei più grandi e irresponsabili esportatori di armi. Le armi cinesi stanno contribuendo ad alimentare conflitti brutali, criminalità e gravi violazioni dei diritti umani in paesi quali Sudan, Nepal, Myanmar e Sudafrica. Il rapporto rivela il possibile coinvolgimento di aziende occidentali nella produzione di alcuni tipi d’armamento. L’export cinese di armi si aggira almeno intorno a un miliardo di dollari l’anno, ma la Cina è l’unico paese, tra i grandi esportatori di armi, a non aver sottoscritto neanche uno degli accordi multilaterali che vietano il trasferimento di armi che potrebbero essere usate per commettere gravi violazioni dei diritti umani.
