28.12.2006 Con una quindicina di nuove operazioni per un valore complessivo di oltre 20 milioni di euro Banca Popolare di Milano (BPM) si conferma nel 2006 "banca armata": lo rivelano fonti pervenute alla Campagna di pressione alle "banche armate". BPM ha finora affermato di non "finanziare" il commercio delle armi, ma non c'è assolutamente niente da finanziare, c'è solo da riscuotere incassi e pagamenti per conto delle ditte che ne sono clienti. Tre in particolare quelle per le quali agisce BPM: Agusta spa, Alenia-Marconi e Selex per la quale la BPM ha in corso l'operazione di riscossione dalla Cina per Radar Ran 30X/I-T per oltre 5 milioni di euro. Dopo tre anni crediamo sia venuto il momento per le associazioni di chiedere spiegazioni alla BPM. Non si tratta solo di Banca Etica e Etimos, di cui BPM è socia, ma anche di numerose Ong che hanno il proprio conto corrente presso la BPM: da ActionAid a Emergency, dalle Acli milanesi alla Caritas ambrosiana, dal Banco Alimentare al comico genovese Beppe Grillo.

26.12.2006 Last Wednesday, December 20, the Constitutional Court ruled to annul the provision from the 2004 Law on the Rights of Veterans of the Homeland War and Members of their Families, which gave the right to veterans, their children and children of victims of war to direct enrolment in secondary and higher education institutions, provided that they passed the lower limit for necessary points in entry exam.

18.12.2006 The Women in Black, provoked by the decision of the Dutch Government to award medals to the 350 soldiers that stood by and watched the genocide in Srebrenica in 1995, sent a letter to the associations of women from Srebrenica, in which they condemned the decision.

13.12.2006 Vaatealan yrityksillä olisi paljon parannettavaa, mitä tulee sosiaalisen vastuun kysymyksiin niiden tuotantomaissa. Tiistaina julkistetussa esiselvityksessä haastateltiin 13 suurinta suomalaista vaatealan yritystä. Ainoastaan kahden yrityksen, Stockmannin ja samaan konserniin kuuluvan Seppälän, tehtaissa tehdään tällä hetkellä minkäänlaisia ulkopuolisia tarkastuskäyntejä.

Il riconoscimento del Comitato tecnico della campagna “Città equosolidali” (promossa da Agices, Fairtrade TransFair Italia, Coordinamento Agende 21 e Coordinamento Enti locali per la pace) certifica che questi enti hanno inserito prodotti equi nei capitolati d’appalto per le mense pubbliche o per i distributori automatici e svolto attività di informazione e di promozione del commercio equo.
